The Technology Fellows program, which began in 1999, provides opportunities for faculty and staff members to explore new and creative ways to apply their technology skills to collaborative, technology-based projects that will promote and enhance the use of technology in teaching and curriculum development. Each Technology Fellows team consists of two faculty or staff members. The technology collaborative projects can be based on mutual skills and interests, a merger of technical and subject matter expertise, departmental or interdisciplinary explorations, or common curricular, teaching and resource needs. The focus of the project should be the use of technology to enhance and promote classroom learning, to create new teaching methodologies using technology as a teaching tool, or the use of technology to provide support for teaching and curricular issues.
The Fellows will work on their projects through the summer of 2008, pilot their projects in Fall 2008 and write a summary paper during J-Session 2009. Each member of the team receives a $2500 stipend upon successful completion of the project. Team members also serve as a departmental technology resource and are encouraged to present their projects at a faculty retreat or other appropriate venue.
