Summer in Florence

At Columbia College Chicago, we’re serious about our “hands-on, minds-on” approach to higher education. We like to say the city is our classroom, and our students learn from the creative professionals producing the culture of our time. But what if the culture you want to study is that of Renaissance Italy? You take your “classroom” to Florence, of course. This month, a group of Columbia College Chicago students and their professors are ensconced within the campus of the Lorenzo de Medici school, parts of which date to the 13th century. The campus is in Florence’s historic city center, a few minutes’ walk from the Duomo, the San Lorenzo market, church, and more.
