2008 winning haiku!

The Library is proud to announce that Andy Trebing, MFA in Poetry is the winner of the first Library Haiku contest. The contest was open to all graduating students, and was to address the following themes of graduation, learning, knowledge, books and/or their time as a Columbia student. Andy's winning entry is as follows:



As soon as you know

your poem won't cause cancer

the degree is cake.


The contest jury members were Jan Chindlund, Kristy Bowen, Jacob Saenz and Roland Hansen from the Library, headed by Tony Trigilio of the English Department.
