Ray Bradbury, 2009 Manifest Grand Marshal

Manifest is honored to announce it's 2009 Grand Marshal, Ray Bradbury. Bradbury is an essential practitioner of American science-fiction, whose works include Fahrenheit 451, Dandelion Wine, and Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Bradbury's connections to Columbia are numerous. Originally from the Chicago area, Bradbury was profiled by Columbia Fiction Writing Professor Sam Weller in the best-selling The Bradbury Chronicles (2005). This year, in addition to his participation in Manifest, Bradbury will receive an honorary degree at Columbia's Commencement ceremonies and his work Fahrenheit 451 will be featured as part of the Big Read, cosponsored by the Columbia College Library.
