Portfolio Center Blog: Networking, pizza and portfolio advice for journalists | April 24th @ 6:30
Several reporters and editors will visit Columbia to network with J students, talk to them about their resume, their writing samples and provide advice on using writing clips to find internships and employment. Oh, and the pizza gets here at 6:30pm.
Guests include Michael McCarthy, the former deputy bureau chief of the Chicago office of the Wall Street Journal, an author and current Columbia College instructor; Rummana Hussain, reporter with the Chicago Sun-Times; Rui Kaneya, managing editor of the Chicago Reporter; Alice Chang, a freelance reporter and former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter; and Lorene Yue, an online reporter with Crain's Chicago Business.
This session is made possible by the Asian American Journalists Association and is open to juniors, seniors, graduate students and December '06 grads.
