Riot Act Media, the world's first truly and staunchly independent public relations firm, was formed in Chicago, IL by director David Lewis. The firm's efforts to offer proactive, scalable, successful, artist-friendly campaigns have permanently helped to level the public relations playing field in the independent music and arts world. In April of 2007, Riot Act partnered with management company Sargent House and production company Refused TV, adding former Sub Pop publicist Joan Hiller to the mix shortly thereafter.

Q: Whoa there. What are Industry Expert sessions again?
A: It's a service provided by the Portfolio Center that pairs students with working professionals in their field. An Industry Expert helps you understand what materials to put in a portfolio (and what to leave out), how to package and present your work, and how you'll know when it's ready for prime time.
