Gabel, founding editor and publisher of STOP SMILING, a literary arts & culture magazine for high-minded lowlifes based in Chicago and New York. In 2010, STOP SMILING will cease publishing a periodical, and instead venture into book publishing under the same name through a partnership with Melville House/Random House. Gabel is also a regular contributor to Wallpaper and Playboy.
