Logging in to what with what? |
Columbia offers students a suite of online tools to help with everything from registering for classes to finding a job. This is a quick overview of what online tools help you do what, and how to login to each.
OASIS
OASIS is the official learning management portal at Columbia College. Translation ... login to OASIS to see your official academic record, your current classes, your hours completed, your major, and concentration ... all that stuff.
Moodle
Moodle is a second learning management tool the college uses. Many, but by no means all of the teachers at Columbia use Moodle as an online space to communicate with their students, post class materials, give out assignments, etc. You don't need to login to Moodle for any reason until you go to class, and your instructor tells you that he or she is using Moodle for the class.
Loopmail
Loopmail is of course the official email address the college uses to communicate with you. If Loopmail looks like Gmail to you, that's because that is essentially what it is.
The Student Loop
The Student Loop, not to be confused with Loopmail, is an online space that allows you to upload profile information about yourself, read important messages and sign up for email communications from the College.
Columbia Cash
Columbia Cash allows students to use their campus card as a prepaid debit card to manage their budget when purchasing select services and items around Columbia's campus.
ColumbiaWorks
ColumbiaWorks is an online job board containing part-time jobs, full-time jobs, internships, and on-campus jobs.
In the Fall of 2009, with the exception of Loopmail, all of Columbia's online student tools will begin to allow students to login using just their OASIS ID and password. We'll be in touch when that is in place.
