ShopColumbia: Fundraising Opportunity for Student Organizations

ShopColumbia is planning a Holiday Market and will have music, food, holiday surprises, and great gift buying opportunities but........NO GIFT WRAP!!

ShopColumbia offers unique handmade gifts, so why not offer unique gift-wrapping too? Anyone can go to a big box store and buy ribbons and bows, but how would you wrap the Columbia style and spirit? Recycled? Sparkles? Goth?

On December 1-3, ShopColumbia will host a Holiday Art Market and we are challenging Columbia’s student organizations to propose a creative gift-wrapping station as a fundraiser for their organization.

Who is Eligible:

Any officially recognized Student Organization in good standing, with members available to work one or more 3 hour shifts on December 1-3, 9am-6pm.

Proposal Criteria:

1) Organization's name, number of members, and contact person’s e-mail regarding their proposal.
2) Gift-wrapping idea, including details of materials. Explain if your idea relates to your organization's mission. (Photos or illustrations of ideas are encouraged.)
3) List and budget of materials that you will be needing. (ShopColumbia can provide some boxes, tissue paper and shopping bags. Organizations will need to request funding for or solicit donations for additional supplies.)
4) How much space and how many tables will you need for your gift wrapping station?
5) Additional Services: Will you be offering only gift-wrapping? Delivery? Entertainment?
6) Will you charge for each service or ask for a suggested donation?

Email proposals to shop@colum.edu no later than Monday, November 2, by 5 p.m.

Selection Process:

The ShopColumbia Review Board will select and notify all organizations by Friday November 6.
