What are you doing for Spring Break?

Padre? Colorado? Your parents house for free food and laundry? Something tells us most of you are choosing that last option this year, and we don't blame you. Color separation? Actually folding the laundry once it comes out of the dryer? Amazing stuff.

That said, take a moment and tell us about your Spring Break plans (or lack thereof) this year. One lucky student will get a $25 Target Card for sharing.

I was really sad today because I missed home. So I cried in the sunshine while my boyfriend professed his love to me. I told him I needed out. He told me he needed in. Now I'm heading home. For Spring Break starting Thursday. A few more classes. Almost there. I feel like it might rain. Its supposed to pour all the time that I'm there. Shit. And my mom has all the rooms in our house rented out so I have to sleep in the center of the house. Sweet. No sneaking out. To go where though? Zoe will pick me up in her white square jeep and we will pick up peaces of the puzzle that we're missing and figure out what to do once it's done. Then the next day we will lay out at Sandys, maybe I'll actually go in for the first time ever. I'd lived there how long? and I still hadn't gone in? It is time for a change. We might then mosey on to the Haheon'e Trail. Well. You'll just have to ask me about the rest of the trip.

I'm going to Rome with Campus Crusade for Christ for Spring Break. My team and I will be talking to university students about God and how Christianity isn't about rules and rituals, but about relationships with God and people.

Zachary Mannion says:

My only plan is to force myself to be productive over the break. I've been doing nothing but school work and trying to squeeze in as much time for friends if I have any free time. I want to do the things that gave me a reason to come to Columbia.

So basically, I'm going to bed my parents for coffee money and do my best to be up before 12pm.

I am buried in so many projects right now (outside of school)...it will be great to have a week to catch up on everything. And maybe I'll cook for myself for a change.

Spring break plans:
1) Finish filming the Directing 3 project I casted for in class and got shang-hied into line producing.

2) Start the offical filming of my gender in the media documentary.

3) make phone calls/emails to NYC and Seattle to secure interview times in August for some high ranking comic book creators and editors (for documentary #2)

4) shoot short film script of my roommates because its too funny of a story not to film.

5) Work the day job.

6) go back home to the 'burbs to say hi to my little brother and have some of mom's good ol fashion home cooking.

7) Work the day job to pay the rent.

8) transfer all the work I did in my little red journal (thank you again) into a digital copy.

9) try to sleep.

:)

For spring break I'm going to catch up on my online gaming. I'm also going to re-rent all those movies that I rented, but didn't get the chance to watch due to trying to stay up in my classes. Did I mention that I paid enough in late fees to actually purchase some of those movies. I may even take time to find all of my matching socks, that way I can quit wearing mismatch socks. I may even crack open my text books and read ahead. I think I went too far with that one. Overall just relax and maybe work off some of this winter gut that I grew.

I'm going snowboarding in Telluride, UT.
Trading cold weather and wind for cold weather, snow, and wind.
Apparently, I get separation anxiety when Chicago winters wind down for the year and threaten me with springtime.

Even though the majority of my spring break will be devoted to playing catch up, there will be a whole lot of cereal and sleeping.

Coco says:

This year will mark the very first year of my entire school career (we're talking K thru, ok?) that I have ever gone somewhere WARM for spring break. Usually if we travel anywhere, it's farther north. My sister lives in Texas and we're going to visit her. Of course we can't afford to fly, I'm not really sure who the hell can these days, so we're taking an amtrak down there. The funny thing about that, though, is that the train ride from Chicago to Austin is really about 24 hours long. It's going to be an interesting round trip.

After saving up for almost a year, I'm taking advantage of the time off, and finally going back home to Vermont to see my family. Goodbye homesickness!

My family is just itchin' to buy me food, do my laundry for me and take me out to movies. Seriously. All I have to do is sit back and enjoy the 9 days of guilt and love that they feel for not seeing me all semester. Ah, family!

During spring break, I'm going home and working two jobs, one is at an ice cream shop, and the other is at a movie theater. Sounds like loads of fun right?

I'm using the week off of school to get as many hours in at work as possible so I can pay rent next month! And then I've gotta work on all those projects that have been due... :\

Jenna says:

Spring break for me is just a break from classes essentially...I'll be going home to see the fam, but still working to make some money (there's always money to be made), doing free laundry, and celebrating the three birthdays: myself, my twin, and my younger brother...three birthdays on the same day; it's like christmas all over again :P.

Kelcey Schroder says:

I plan on being pretty productive over spring break: Photograph more for my portfolio, finish website, look at apts to find the perfect one, find a job, make something for Expose Yourself, and prepare for the trip to AZ in early April. Ambitious? Perhaps.
