You've been living with these people for the better part of a year. It hasn't always been pretty, it isn't always a good time ... but still ... take a moment and reflect on the good times and the people that made them. Share a little love with your roomies, your floormates, your RA, and the Res. Life staff who helped you call your place home this year. We'll pick three students who post and give them a $10 Jewel-Osco gift card.

Posted by Liz Meenan | April 19, 2009 4:59 PMI want to give a HUGE shout out to the 21st floor of 2 E. 8th street. Our floor is clearly the most amazing of all floors in any building. From day one we were all together hanging out and "networking (as columbia so loves us to do!) We decided we weren't going to be an ordinary floor. We made sure to decorate for every season (we are currently in spring with rain drops hanging from the ceiling and flowers growing from the floor.) We made our own music video. We have our own web page (yay for new millennium Studies!) The pacman window art was started by a guy on our floor (shout out to Joe Jacks!) And over all we just darn love each other! can't imagine Columbia this year without this floor!
I love you all 21st floor!
Posted by Chelsea Middendorf | April 19, 2009 1:03 PMbest thing about 2 E 8th....kick ass roommates! 6th floor is awesome too because i never have to wait for the elevator.
24/7 security was a big plus, and overall things this first year were pretty convenient.
Thanks 2 E 8th

You provide the best of views.
Including the Parking lot below.Oh, the sun wakes me up everyday at 6:30 AM.
I don't know what I'll do without nature's alarm clock.
The view from the rooftop will never let me down.A short poem I wrote about my memories at 2 East 8th.
Posted by Kady Dennell | April 15, 2009 9:28 PMOh, 2 East 8th, you have been oh so great to me... minus the elevator business, anyway. I'd like to make a shout-out to 1) the best R.A. evahhh - Lucas (Lucaz) Kreitler! I have thoroughly enjoyed your snarky remarks and model poses... please don't leave meee! 2) I'd like to make a shout-out to the 13th floor (my second home for first semester). I'll never forget 1310, the pillar, mattress parties, and Nerf gun capture the flag. 3) I'd like to make a shout-out to my homie/roommate/bestie Alyx Gauthier ("we in the clubbb, we ridin' slowww).
The end.
Thanks. It's been real.
