We thought maybe you could sum up the Spring 2009 semester for us ... in your words ... in a single sentence. See if you can boil down your last (15) weeks into a coherent thought. As always, there's a little something ($25 gift certificate to Target, and two $10 Jewel-Osco cards) for three students who find a clever way to put it all in one single sentence.

Posted by SANTINA MAINO | May 12, 2009 1:51 PMTHIS SEMESTER WAS ONE OF MY BUSIEST YET! NOT ONLY BECAUSE I AM A SENIOR AND GRADUATING IN LESS THAN A MONTH, BUT BECAUSE I TOOK 2 HISTORY CLASSES AS WELL!! THESE DAMN HISTORY PAPERS ARE WEIGHING OVER ME LIKE NO OTHER!~ 4 DUE 2MORROW. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? WHO CARES! THIS IS ALL OVER IN LESS THAN A WEEK, AS I WILL BE A GRADUATE THIS SAME TIME NEXT TUESDAY! I'VE HAD SOME GREAT SUCCESSES AT COLUMBIA, AND EVEN WITH ALL THE BALL BUSTERS, HAVE COME MY GOOD FEELINGS MOMENTS! THE ONLY THING I DO NO ENJOY AND THING IS RIDICULOUS IS THAT WE DID NOT GET GRADUATION INVITES, BECAUSE COLUMBIA DECIDED TO "GO GREEN" THIS YEAR. THIS WAS A HUGE STRESS AND BALL BUSTER FOR ME TO GET THEM PRINTED, AND NOT SOMETHING I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH AS A SENIOR, SINCE I HAD WAY MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO. ESPECIALLY WHEN I ONLY GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE ONCE, AND MY COLLEGE CAREER COST MY PARENTS ABOUT $80,000. SO THIS IS NOT THE AREA WHERE COLUMBIA SHOULD GO GREEN!!!!!
Posted by Lisa Danielson | May 11, 2009 2:23 PMThis semester was a tough one. Not only do students like myself have to worry about the economy, getting student loans, grants and competing for scholarships, but also classes. My classes were pretty challenging, but I've also learned a lot this semester and plan to keep on working on independent projects throughout the summer. There hasn't been a whole lot of social time this semester for me either, so I'm looking forward to summer!
Posted by Jessica Castigliego | May 11, 2009 2:35 AMI learned three very important lessons: Midwesterners do not like to be hugged, 'spelunking' means 'cave exploring', and I never get tired of Judd Apatow movies.
Posted by Anthony Shane | May 11, 2009 12:25 AMThis semester led me to meet the perfect people to help me start my career after graduation. Perfect timing.
Posted by Chance Draper | May 10, 2009 11:08 PMI don't remember the Spring 2009 semester, well at least the "spring" part; when did spring happen?
Posted by Eric Reitz | May 10, 2009 8:24 PMAn adventure of discovery, wrapped in revelations and relief.
Posted by Ryan Nelson | May 10, 2009 6:42 PMToughest semester of my life! I've have been in school off and on for 10 years and changed majors 6 times. I wish I would have found Columbia years ago. It gave me exactly what I wanted...a lot of challenging, informative, fun work. Not to say it was all perfect. Yeah there was some bullsh*t but I've been through a lot of different programs at different schools and this was by far the best. yeah yeah blah blah blah get me a tissue. I know this is kind of cheese but I earned it damn it. I thought if I ever finished college it would be with a degree I picked "just to finish" Now I'm graduating with a degree in something I've always loved doing (audio(AVM)). Anyway... great experience. I worked my ass off for five semesters, made some friends, broke some bones, lost what social life I had, mastered public transit, and made some movies. Give me my cap n' gown I'M READY TO DRINK!...um I mean...be the man I know I can be...or some shit.
Cheers

Posted by Bill Coon | May 10, 2009 2:00 PMI would describe this past semester as:
Extremely hectic, very tiresome, a lot of Red-Lining, all work with very very very minimal play... but in the end... a very educational and beneficial semester for me.
Posted by Benjamin | May 10, 2009 12:24 PMDear Columbia, please don't let Daniel Schmid graduate so he has to live with me and be forced to do things he doesn't want to do and be scared to walk into the room for fear of being attacked with random objects for another year. Thanks.
Posted by Rachel Coulter | May 10, 2009 10:14 AMSometimes you've just got to walk through the rain to see the rainbow.
